If my work were a road trip, music would be the vehicle in which I travel. Much of the creative process for me is influenced by music, whether or not the end product is obviously music related. When I paint I always turn music on, and allow myself to get lost in songs. The musical journey allows my mind to be quiet, and let the spirit take over. I try not to be too careful or think too much. Letting the music take me to a place where I rely more on instinct than technique, usually results in my best work. My love for and appreciation of music impacts my choice of subject matter that often involves musicians and instruments, but music connects all of my work; because while I am creating, I am always listening.
