The issues that I am passionate about consistently make their way into my work. The civil rights movement as well as other topics involving human dignity are subjects that frequently capture my attention. The freedoms that I experience today were made possible by the commitment of my predecessors to civil rights, and I deal with the injustices of both the past and the present in many of my pieces. As an artist I am continually influenced by the diversity that is my cultural milieux, but as a child of the eighties, I am drawn to the music that influenced and defines hip-hop culture.
